THT is re-running its successful ‘Facts for Life’ campaign, targeting men who have unprotected anal intercourse (UAI). Facts for Life uses eight executions to convey key messages about the facts of HIV exposure and transmission through UAI. It provides advice on risk reduction, but also emphasises that condom use is the most reliable way to prevent HIV transmission.
Will Nutland Gay Men’s Health Promotion Manager at THT said: “This campaign was first launched in 2000 and was well received by men questioned as part of the annual Gay Men’s Sex Survey. It’s important that these hard-hitting, tell-it-like-it-is messages about UAI and HIV transmission reach men newly arrived on the scene. We know that men have UAI, but just under 20% of negative and untested men are doing so with partners whose HIV status they know”.
