This weekend the Isle of Wight Festival will celebrate a decade of fun, frolics and fantastic music with a mega birthday bonanza. This epic revived and revamped event boasts an incredible line-up of talent over three fun filled days.

Boy George launched the celebrations in the Big Top last night, to us early bird campers. The flamboyant former lead singer of Culture Club treated us to a set including: Do You Really Want To Hurt Me and Everything I Own. Also appearing were 1980’s act ABC and – on the Garden Stage – Paper Romance.

This evening (Friday) donning wellies and clutching umbrellas in true festival style, rain soaked fans will be warmed up by rock gods Kings of Leon as they take to the main stage. For the definitive girl party, Alexandra Burke brings girl power to Girl’s Night Out. Others appearing undercover across the weekend are sexy girl band Parade, The Cult, The Vaccines, Cast and Nick Lowe.

70,000 revellers will experience non-stop action at Seaclose Park, Newport for the first major music festival of the summer. Liam Gallagher’s group, Beady Eye, will make their gig extra special by including fans in their new music video. They will be recording the set using footage from the festival in promotion for their new single ‘The Beat Goes On’.

On Saturday the Foo Fighters headline, while The Script and Plan B play to the record sell-out event on Sunday with Britain’s biggest cult band, Kasabian, closing the spectacular.

Now up goes the brolly and back to the fun…
