He was lifting in the European Single Event Championships which were held in Lausanne, Switzerland and made lifts of 220 kg followed by 247.5 kg and then 267.5 kg (personal best) at a bodyweight of 81.8 kg.
Speaking about the competition, Chris Said,
‘I’m delighted to have defended my European Championship title here in Lausanne and to have broken my own personal best once again. After suffering a number of injuries throughout this international season it’s a great relief to be moving forward again and to be making progress’.
‘It’s a great feeling to end 2012 with all my British, European and World Championship titles intact’.

‘This weekend was very special because it marked the International debut of fellow Gay Games Powerlifter Ingvild Bayer, who represented Germany for the first time. Ingvild made lifts of 140kg, followed by 151kg and then a third attempt of 162.5 kilo’s for a personal best and to become European Championship.
‘Ingvild also broke the World Masters record for her weight class and won the best female Deadlifter award at the Championships’.
