On Tuesday, 23 August from 6PM – 9PM, the Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) present ‘Our Kids Are Alright’, an informative evening celebrating lesbian and bisexual women. The event is free of charge to the public and will be held at the Lesbian and Gay Foundation, Number 5, Richmond Street, Manchester.
This event will explore all things family. Attendees can watch the hit film ‘The Kids Are Alright’, a story about lesbian mums, their two children and what happens when their anonymous sperm donor unexpectedly enters their lives. Additionally, there will be an expert panel available to share their stories and to answer any practical and legal questions about starting a family. Finally, a new community photography exhibition about ‘Family Pride’ will be launched on the night.
Jackie Crozier, festival director at Manchester Pride said: “The Lesbian and Gay Foundation are hosting this informative event which will hopefully benefit the LGBT community and their families. This is one of the educational events running during this year’s Manchester Pride Fringe and we are really pleased to have the Lesbian and Gay Foundation involved.”
Manchester Pride 2011 takes place from Friday 19 – Monday 29 of August and tickets for the Big Weekend are now on sale. For more information see www.manchesterpride.com.
