What have been your greatest successes?
Turning a fish camp style 12 unit motel and cottages into a lovely, clean, pet friendly, family oriented establishment.
15 years owning and operating our 12 unit mom and pop motel.
Starting and successfully operatig a volunteer Trap Neuter Return Program for our island feral/stray cats.
Organizing our communities Easter Event for the children.
Not being afraid to let everyone know that we do not disriminate against race, creed, color or religious or sexual orientation.

What has been your greatest challenge and how did you overcome it?
Our greatest challenge was leaving the north’s corporate environment we both knew and moving to the south to buy a 12 unit mom and pop motel/cottages in a small rural community with 850 year round residents.

What advice would you give to other small businesses in appealing to the LGBT+ community?
Don’t be afraid to advertise to the LGBT community. Display a rainbow flag on your website and at your business and let this group of travelers know that your business does not discriminate and welcomes all travelers to feel welcome and safe.
