The team behind ‘redevined wines ‘ is delighted to announce the inaugural European Gay Wine Weekend to be held in the town of Blaye, Bordeaux, from the 18th to 21st October 2018.

European Gay Wine Weekend is a brand-new networking and socialising event for the LGBT community in Europe.  With wine at its core, this event offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a weekend of the simple things in life: wine, food, music, and friends – new and old, all in the beautiful surroundings of the sumptuous vineyards of Bordeaux.

Located in the heart of Blaye, the team have commandeered a gay quarter for the weekend, with accommodation, event space, wine bars and restaurants, all located within a block of Rue St. Simon. Exclusive accommodation has been arranged with partners Bordeaux Village Blaye, with our Premier Cru and Grand Cru offerings including chambres d’hotes, as well as luxurious self-catered accommodation.

Across the weekend, guests will get to:

Attend sunset wine drinks each evening in a different location;

Visit Chateaux and local wineries, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the wine making process and sample the delights direct from the barrel;

Dine with winemakers at a winemaker dinner in the exquisite location of Citadelle Hotel Blaye;

Sample a multitude of wines from a collection of winemakers at EGWW mini wine festival which showcases the wines of Côtes du Bourg. This will be held at Maison Du Vin Bourg, a modern architectural delight with stunning views across the Gironde river to the Médoc;

Party the night away at EGWW Wine Soiree on Saturday night;

Enjoy complimentary yoga classes or group runs along the vineyard tracks;

Bid farewell at the Adieu Champagne Brunch.

European Gay Wine Weekend is a networking concept dreamed up by the London-based founders of redevined wines, which launched in February 2018.

Speaking about launching European Gay Wine Weekend, Co-Director Patrick Bernie says “Our goal is to connect people with the stories behind our wine. What better way than to bring them to Bordeaux, where they will experience wine country during harvest time.

Not only that, we love the idea of bringing together gay, lesbian, bi, and transgender folk to give them an environment that is open and welcoming, to network and develop friendships – all while getting to know a little more about wine in this beautiful setting.”

Spaces for the inaugural European Gay Wine Weekend are strictly limited. More information, event passes for all activities, and accommodation details in Blaye are available at www.europeangaywineweekend.com
