Pride in Brighton & Hove has appointed seven new trustees to its board of directors, who meet for their first board meeting this week.
The new trustees are:
Nick Beck, a marketing expert; Dave Bettelley, an LGBT businessmen; David Bishop, an insurance broker and a former Pride volunteer; Madeline Lawlor, a social networking entrepreneur; Del Smart, a finance officer for a trade union and another former Pride volunteer; Baz Stannard, an LGBT businessman and Stuart Matthews a volunteer with a national charity and previous Parade entrant.
They join existing trustees, Russell Allen, a local government officer and Justin Manning, a hotelier.
Commenting, acting chair Russell Allen said:
“I am delighted to welcome my new colleagues onto the board. They join at a particularly challenging time, when key decisions on the future shape of the charity need to be taken and I am confident that they will bring fresh thinking and enthusiasm driving the charity forward and regaining the support from all parts of the local LGBT community.”
He went on: “The board of trustees is not yet up to full strength and we are still looking for volunteers to come forward to help steer Pride over the coming years.”
