On Thursday 25 August at 7:30pm LGBT theatre company VADA presents ‘Sex & The Century’ at the Chorlton c*m Hardy Library, with ticket prices of £5 (£3) on the door.
VADA gathered information during LGBT History Month and discovered the hidden history of ordinary people leading extraordinary lives. Imagine living in 1911, 1951 or even 1991: what did people do and how did they love? What promises to be an entertaining, touching and comedic event will tell the story of remarkable people like us.
Stephen Hornby, the director of ‘Sex & The Century’ said: “There is a wealth of brilliant stories, really compelling, moving, hysterical and often quite unexpected. There’s so much still to be told about the last century and VADA is going to make a brilliant start this summer with ‘Sex & The Century’”.
Jackie Crozier, festival director of Manchester Pride said: “We are delighted to have VADA on board with this year’s Manchester Pride Fringe. ‘Sex & The Century’ will be an entertaining performance that will also educate the audience about people’s love lives in the past century”.
‘Sex & The Century’ will also be shown at the Castle Hotel on Oldham Street on Tuesday 30 August and Thursday 1 September.
Manchester Pride 2011 takes place from Friday 19 – Monday 29 of August and tickets for the Big Weekend are now on sale. For more information see www.manchesterpride.com.
