The organisers of Manchester Pride, the city’s annual lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) festival, are seeking entertainers to contribute to the carnival atmosphere over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
Manchester Pride is encouraging entertainers from all walks of life; individuals, groups and communities, to support the festival’s Big Weekend in the Village Hall on Bloom Street.
The hall provides a safe space throughout the weekend for various LGBT community groups to get together and promote their causes. Entertainment helps to bring the event to life as hundreds of festival goers visit the hall during the Big Weekend.
Jackie Crozier, festival manager of Manchester Pride, said: “We’re keen to get a diverse range of entertainment in the Village Hall this year. We’re encouraging anything from urban art groups to sports games and musicians such as steel drummers and small bands. This is a real chance to support the local LGBT community and have a whole lot of fun doing so.”
