Applications are now open for Stonewall’s Healthy Lives programme, which provides free, bespoke support for NHS Trusts on fairly addressing the needs of lesbian, gay and bisexual staff and patients. The deadline for submissions is 6 May. www.stonewall.org.uk/healthylives
James Taylor, Stonewall’s Health Officer, said: ‘This unique programme was set up in response to Stonewall’s health research and analysis of employer performance which showed that the NHS needed specific help and targeted expertise in reducing inequalities for lesbian, gay and bisexual people. We look forward to receiving applications for this free support programme – we’re particularly keen to receive applications from GP groups and Foundation Trusts.’
Each NHS organisation will receive tailored action plans until the end of the year to reduce health inequalities experienced by local lesbian, gay and bisexual people and support in setting up staff networks and patient groups.
NHS Trusts, General Practitioner groups and Primary Care Trusts are all invited to apply.
