The 3rd Swindon & Wiltshire Pride festival is being held in the Town Gardens on Saturday 14th August, the colourful rainbow Parade will kick the day off, leaving from the Springfield Road entrance at 11:30am.
This free event is becoming well established in Wiltshire and has a fantastic community atmosphere. So bring your friends and family and support your local pride ‘Let’s make pride happen’.
The ‘Nationwide’ Main Stage will be packed with vibrant acts from 12:00 to 22:00, ranging from bands such as TLi (The local Idiots) to Jo Francis to our headline act. (The identity of our headline act will be released on website very soon!!).
This year the Community Stage will be open from 13:00 to 18:00. The Mailcoach’s DJ Will is your host (and will be mixing up the tunes between acts) with music from up and coming young local bands & entertainers.
The park itself will have various zones to visit with the introduction of a new zone, the ‘Healthy Body, Healthy Mind’ zone sponsored by Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership, NHS Trust and Swindon Primary Care Trust; the first 500 people will receive a free goody bag. Also, free taster session’s of Indian Head Massage, Reiki can be received in this zone. Don’t forget to check out the Information Zone where you can meet and talk, gather lots of information from Swindon College, Out of the Can LGBT Youth Action Group and more!!
Oh did we forget to tell you about the Online Pride Pet Show this year? That’s right, following on from the massive success of last years Dog Show, this year we are opening it up to all types of pet! As with last year, entry and voting will take place online at www.swindonpride.com/petshow. Entry in to the Pet Show is open until midday on Friday 30th June and the voting will begin on Sunday 1st August. The Swindon & Wiltshire Pride Pet Show is being sponsored by Pets Shed in Wroughton.

The official Launch Party and Hog Roast is taking place at The Mailcoach (www.mailcoachswindon.co.uk) on the Saturday 24th July. Featuring live music from ‘The beautiful Losers’ (http://www.myspace.com/craigandtiff), the night will also see a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Live Aid, so get dressed and party like pop stars. The Hog Roast & Cider will be served in the beer garden from 7:30pm, and after that you can dance the night away right through until 4am with The Mailcoach’s DJ Will.
