A new Cornwall Pride date was set after the success of the first ever Cornwall Pride. The Cornish Diversity festival held in August, which gained massive support amongst the local community and from supporters country wide has a new date for next years Cornwall Pride, which is to be 8th August 2009.
The Chairman, Christian Diamant, said “We were taken aback by the support of everyone who attended Cornwall Pride this year. No sooner than it was over, we were being asked what date would Cornwall Pride be next year.”
The new committee which was voted in at the AGM of Cornwall Pride 2008 on October 20th has some familiar faces on the committee and new ones.
The Chairman went on to say. “After having a bit of a break we are now really energised and enthused to build on the success of the first Cornwall Pride. We don’t have plans to change the format to much, we feel the Parade, Picnic in the Park and the ticketed evening event was a perfect combination. Where we can we will try to improve on the detail, we some new ideas and we have the right committee to achieve that.”
