I have 20 years experience of working in the counselling field and am based two miles south of Manchester city centre. I work in an integrative way to best meet the needs of the people with whom I work. I take my role very seriously and always strive to work professionally and ethically. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and as such abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. For more information about my practice, visit my website.
In addition to my therapeutic work I am also a qualified clinical supervisor working with both student and qualified therapists, supporting them to provide the best help they can to their own clients.
I am also a qualified trainer offering training in all aspects of therapeutic work with sexually diverse people. I have provided workshops to a variety of local counselling agencies, local authorities, the NHS and several universities in the North West. I currently teach two days a week in a local college, training the next generation of counsellors.
I have previously worked for one of the country’s largest organisations offering therapeutic and social support to the LGBT community and trained with Pink Therapy in London.
As a gay man myself I have an understanding of the challenges faced by coming out and finding acceptance without being pathologised. My work and personal experiences have also given me an awareness and understanding of the great diversity within the LGBT+ community.
