Terrence Higgins Trust’s youth service, NRG, is holding its annual youth event and prom on April 28th in Waterloo. The event, called ‘Moving on Up,’ is aimed at lesbian, gay or bisexual (LGB) under 21’s and at those who are questioning their sexuality.
The theme of this year’s Moving on Up is promoting healthy lifestyles. The afternoon event starts at 3pm and will consist of workshops on drama, hair and beauty as well as dance, yoga and tai chi classes. There will also be information provided on the services available to LGB young people in and around Lambeth.
The prom will take place from 7 – 9.30pm. There’ll be a DJ playing indie/pop and those attending will be able to vote to decide who should be crowned Prom King and Queen.
Aretha Banton, Youth Services Programme Officer at Terrence Higgins Trust said “Moving on up is a fantastic event and those who’ve attended in previous years have really loved it. The workshops are fun and interesting and the prom in the evening is always a real highlight. We’d welcome any LGB young people who’d like to come along, have a laugh and meet some new people.”
